News like this can't be bad
A recent survey of some 400 developers found a 12% decrease in development for the windows platform, and a 34% increase in development for linux. Read the article: Windows losing ground with US developers. You can say almost anything with statistics, but assumming the population polled was represenative, this seems like wonderful news to me.

This answers some questions that I had
In my most recent podcast, I expressed some concerns about a quote in a reuters news story from Red Hat CEO Matthew Szulik. This article, Red Hat, Microsoft talk Tux, by Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols, possibly clears up some of the confusion the Rueters story may have caused.

He will also talk about a couple or three new releases for some linux games, how to convert midi files to ogg using timidity, and how to use find to delete files over X days old. He will probably bore you some with details of his vacation, frank miller's the dark knight returns, free wifi, his new haircut, his insignificant opinion on the gplv3, and his impromptu visit to the panama city linux user group. Be warned, he will complain about the frustration of being 500 miles from home when his dsl connection goes out too.
