podcast pictures
Here are a couple of pics from the lottalinuxlinks.com linux user podcast moble podcast command center. The first picture is a warning to all motorist on the road along side me, or what they see when they don't see me coming. Fellow motorist beware! If you think it's bad to talk on a cellphone and drive....what about podcasting?
The last picture is of me, your humble host at the wheel of the 2006 Honda Civic mobile podcasting studio, podcasting at 75 mph. You just thought I sounded bad? Click on the picture to view full screen, IF YOU DARE. You have been warned.

Listener hotline
I have added a second option for listeners of the podcast to contact me. In addition to the web-based odeo recording service method, you can now use your phone and dial 206-350-8040 to leave me a voice message. Please feel free to use either of these services (in addition to email) to ask me a question, suggest topics for future podcast, share a linux tip, or just to submit listener feedback regarding the podcast--comment, criticize, shower me with praise, etc, etc. 206-350-8040 is not a free call, standard long-distnace rates will apply (use a cell phone).

wget -r -l1 -H -t1 -nd -N -np -A.mp3 -erobots=off -i mp3_sites.txt
I failed to mention the -N option is necessary to enable time-stamping, so music won't be downloaded twice.

Screencast: take one
Just got this working about 30 minutes ago. It's not 100% open source, since it's flash, but it works. I hope to incorporate some of this into the podcast/blog.Check it out: my first desktop screencast

lastfm for ubuntu revisited
I recently posted a link to an ubuntu repo with a working lastfm binary. Since posting that info, for some reason, the site has gone down.
Here is a link to a site that has working lastfm clients for ubuntu dapper: http://people.debian.org/~pxt/lastfm/. This isn't a repo, just a site with some deb packages that work.

Over the Hill
Today is my 40th birthday. Mostly I still feel like I am 15 years old; sometimes 50. It's 2:46 am.

XFCE RC1 released
The latest and greatest(?) XFCE was released today. I am going to try install it now. I don't know if I can put my finger on it or not, but of late, I have been becoming somewhat less of an XFCE fan. I know, it's probably mostly growing pains that come with major upgrades, and beta 2 was better than beta 1; and to be fair, I haven't tried this release yet. But so far, I still don't know if I like the 4.4 version better than the old 4.2 version. 4.2 just seems more solid/stable and lightweight to me. I will comment so more, after I give this release canidate and try.

geek pr0n (gear pic)
Linc from TLLTS, mentioned my having a picture of my computers on my web page. The picture is sorta hard to find, so I thought I would post it here as well. This picture was taken in late 2003. I need to take a new one and post it here
note to self: post new pic on blog
Three of the computers in this picture have been replaced. There are 3 computers not pictured in this pic. Currently I have 7 computers, 2 of which not up and running.
