Linux distros for older hardware
Microsoft lately has been challenging Linux's suitability for older hardware, so it seems like a good time to look at Linux distributions that can run on older machines. I took six distributions for a test run on an old machine, and also tried software that turns old hardware into a thin client. The bottom line: Linux is still quite suitable for older hardware. influenza
Tamiflu cost me $55.00; and then an additional $135.00 for the rest of my family. I guess the stuff works. I am feeling better after 3 1/2 days since first symptoms (flu symptoms normally last 5to 9 days). I missed 2 1/2 days of work; and have probably lost 4 or 5 lbs in sweat and snot (yuck). I have slept so much my body doesn't know what time it is anymore. I think getting sick, and observing how the immune system recovers is fascinating. Sweating out a cold, while not fun, is still an amazing thing to me, knowing that at the cellular level your body is fighting off a virus. It's just neat. Call me weird....I will take pain relievers if I am in pain, but I try to stear clear of fever reducers when possible, cause I think that my immune system does a fine job at that all by itself.
